Volunteer opportunities

Volunteers are vital to the running of the Museum.

If volunteering is something you are interested in then we have the following roles available:

Education Assistant
Every year thousands of primary and secondary school students visit the centre to take part in our education programmes. Your role will be to assist our teaching staff to deliver a high quality service to visiting schools by guiding students around the exhibitions and Memorial Gardens. Training and experience as a Teacher or Teaching Assistant are highly desirable and a satisfactory DBS (CRB) will be required.

Front of House Assistant
We are looking for volunteers who will be confident welcoming visitors to the museum. Front of House volunteers greet and admit visitors into the museum by selling their admission tickets and explaining what we have to offer and where visitors should go. Front of House volunteers talk to visitors, answer questions, take phone calls, and sell merchandise. Full training and support will be provided.

Museum Guide
Your role will be to assist members of the public by helping them get the most from their visit to us. We are looking forward to resuming our exhibition and garden tours given by volunteer hosts. Strong communication skills along with a friendly personality, an interest in the history of the period and a desire to develop knowledge of the Holocaust are important attributes for this role.

Coffee shop Assistant
Our coffee shop provides a friendly space for people to sit after their time in the museum. This role would suit someone with an outgoing manner who is interested in speaking with visitors and working with the catering manager to prepare and serve refreshments.

Gardens Assistant
Our memorial gardens are a key part of our visitor experience. We have over 1,000 white roses planted each one individually dedicated to victims of the Holocaust. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to assist with the general maintenance, tidying and upkeep of the gardens. This would suit someone with an interest in gardening at any experience level.

We are very grateful to our team of volunteers who allow us to continue the work that we do.

For more information and to discuss your future volunteering with us please email [email protected]

Our exhibition & education programmes are based on the warm community built by our Christian founding family with Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. Their testimonies are vital assets for future generations. But today, we again see truth, decency and hope withering. They are fragile things that need protecting. Holocaust distortion, conspiracy theories and the world's longest running racism is back with a vengeance. Please, join our community. Help hope re-bloom. Become a Member.
