Further Information

This Displaced Persons Index Card was donated to the Museum by Rudi Oppenheimer. Rudi was born on 1 October 1931, in Berlin, Germany. He was the middle of three children, and although he was born in Germany, the family were living in Holland at the time of their arrest by the Nazi regime. The card is dated June 1945, and was issued to Rudi after his liberation from Nazi captivity. The card states Rudi's full name and is marked with his registration number, which had been assigned to his registration record. Rudi has become a prolific speaker at the National Holocaust Centre and Museum, regularly telling his story to school groups.
