Information: This photograph forms part of the Ellen Rawson Collection. It is from an album which contained one hundred photographs of Ellen's family enjoying activities such as swimming and holidaying, before the Holocaust.

Further Information

Ellen was born in 1922 in Königsberg, East Prussia. The family lived there happily during Ellen’s early childhood. They kept many of the Jewish holidays, and religion was an important part of family life. This photograph is of Ellen's cousins, and is part of an album which shows much of the family's activity during Ellen's early childhood, including holidays, school days, family portraits and the children all playing together. Ellen survived as she was sent away from the increasing persecution to England on the Kindertransport, her parents were murdered by the Nazi regime.
