Anka with her daughter Eva

Eva was born in Mauthausen Concentration Camp. Her mother, Anka, started giving birth in a coal wagon while being transported from one camp to another. Eva weighed just 3lbs at birth as her mother was little more than a walking skeleton. They were both saved by the advance of the allied forces.

Watch Eva's testimony below. Visitors to our website will only be able to watch the first 15 minutes. However, members of The National Holocaust Centre and Museum are able to see the entire testimony, so please become a member - sign up here.
