Our Director of Learning, James Griffiths, has recently returned from Los Angeles having attended the IWitness Teaching Fellows Programme at the University of Southern California Shoah Foundation.

The USC Shoah Foundation has held a 3 day programme for its Teaching Fellows. The Fellows are American teachers from across the USA who have come to USC to learn how to create resources using IWitness that they can use in their classrooms. On their return to their home states they will cascade their learning and encourage and support their colleagues to use and promote IWitness with their own students.

In addition to learning how to use IWitness, James has also been meeting with colleagues at the USC Shoah Foundation to explore how this testimony rich resource can be used to support teachers in the UK.

The Centre would like to thank Kori Street and her colleagues at the Shoah Foundation for their hospitality during the programme and we look forward to developing our links in the future.

Whilst out in Los Angeles James also took the opportunity to meet with Kevin McGarry from LAMOTH - Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. Click here to read this report.
