Further Information

This photograph of Ruth David’s mother, Margarete, who is standing in the middle of two friends. This photo was taken whilst Margarete was a student in Berlin. One of the friends in the picture, called Rosi Grünblatt, had been a refugee to Germany from the Russian Revolution and met Ruth’s mother in Berlin. Rosi came to England around the time of the First World War, and would later help to secure Ruth a place to come to England on the Kindertransport, which would save her life. Ruth’s mother was murdered in the Holocaust.
