Further Information

In 1939 the Third Reich decreed Regulations on Implementing the Law on the Hitler Youth on March 25th which stated girls aged 10 to 14 would be in the Young Girls League (Jungmädelbund [JM]) and girls aged 14 to 18 would be in the League of German Girls (Bund Deutscher Mädel [BDM]). The BDM was the female equivalent of the Hitler Youth and indoctrination into Nazi ideology was the ultimate goal.
