Terms of Reference
To advise the National Holocaust Centre and Museum (NHCM) on the initiation, promotion and development of research and education in accordance with the current Strategic Plan. In particular, to enhance the NHCM position as a centre for excellence in the field of Holocaust education and research, both nationally and internationally. To achieve this, the AAB will work with the NHCM to

  1. develop and implement a research strategy, with a particular emphasis on education, testimony and collections.
  2. advise on external grant capture and help to secure research and development funding
  3. advise on and contribute to conferences, lectures, seminars and publications.
  4. facilitate and foster collaboration between NHCM with related institutions.
  5. advise  the NHCM on permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, collections, testimony and educational activities.
  6. support Quality Assurance processes to ensure that the Centre’s collections, exhibitions, learning programmes and testimonies are academically rigorous and of the highest quality
  7. advise the NHCM on developments in Holocaust education in schools and universities.
  8. advise on Continuing Professional Development opportunities for National Holocaust Centre staff, and on intern placement schemes for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  9. facilitate the development and work of a Research Centre at the NHCM whose members conduct high quality research and utilise the Centre as a research base.
