It is with great sadness we share that a member of our Survivor family has recently passed away.

Susi Bechhöfer was a longstanding supporter of the Centre and she spoke regularly to schools and groups during their visits.

Recently in 2016, Susi wrote a book, Rosa, in tribute to her mother who died in Auschwitz. Rosa was separated from Susi and her twin, Lotte, in 1939 when they were a part of the Kindertransport. Susi was always hopeful for us to hold a book launch for her but unfortunately, we were never able to celebrate her achievements with Susi in this way.

In her acknowledgements, Susi wrote: “At the Centre when I visit to give talks to schools, there is always a welcome and a smile.”

She will be remembered very fondly and will be missed greatly by all of us here.
