Family Days at the National Holocaust Museum

Activities for families to enjoy and learn together are available at the National Holocaust Centre and Museum this May half term.    

Join us on Friday 31st of May for your children to become mini museum tour guides. Boost your child’s knowledge and confidence as they spend time learning from our qualified educators about life for Jewish individuals in 1930’s Germany (before the outbreak of war), preparing to take up the opportunity of touring their families around our primary age friendly exhibition: The Journey.    

Your children are invited to embark on an educational tour of The Journey, led by our fully qualified, enhanced DBS checked museum educators. As they tour, they will learn about what makes a good museum tour guide and collect information to impart as they prepare to show you around the exhibition later in the day.  

While your child is touring the exhibition with our educators between 11.30am and 1.30pm, you have the perfect opportunity for some quiet time in our beautiful memorial gardens, a catch up with friends in our cafe, or time to peruse the museum exhibition suitable for visitors aged 12+.    

At 1.30pm when you re-join your child, grab some lunch! Either bring your own or treat yourself in our cafe. Then in the afternoon, your child will show you around The Journey exhibition as expert museum tour guides!   

While you’re with us, create something extraordinary in craft activities throughout the day. Our crafts will based on the themes that you will encounter throughout your visit to the museum: identity, refuge, diversity and remembering.
