Roma Sinti Genocide Memorial Day: live performance of 'Broken Instruments'

Join Phil Baggaley, Bill Varnam and Nina Blaszczyk for a unique theatre experience

of story telling, music and songs on

Sunday 28th July

Performance  1.00pm until 2.15pm

The story of Broken Instruments was inspired by the book "Violins of Hope" by James A. Grymes It exists in various forms, including a novella and an audio play.

Broken Instruments is a story of survival, made possible through the power of music.

There is something profound about a beautifully played instrument, especially when you learn that is bears no grudge against those who would have it's player cruelly treated and incarcerated.

"In loving hands, a violin becomes a marriage between player and the instrument itself."

Through beautiful original songs, music and emotive storytelling, we hear the recollections of musician, luthier and Holocaust survivor Ari Vander. Join him as he turns back the pages of his life and offers a message of hope for a better future for us all. The story is based on real events told through the eyes and ears of fictional characters.
