John Fieldsend BEM

The Centre is delighted to announce that John Fieldsend BEM will be speaking on Sunday 21st August from 1:00pm to 2:30pm 

John escaped through the Kindertransport. His father was German and his mother was Czech, when life became difficult in Germany they fled to his grandparents in Czechoslovakia. But when Hitler invaded in 1938 life here too became difficult, and John's parents made the decision to him and his brother to England on the Kindertransport.

The Centre will be open from 10.00pm to 4.30pm to allow members of the public to visit exhibitions and memorial gardens
