The Centre is delighted to announce that author Anna Nyburg will be speaking on Sunday 15th March 2020

Anna graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Toronto in 1972, after which she completed an MA at the University of East Anglia. She taught German, Italian and French in further education and higher education, notably Imperial College London, where she is now an Honorary Lecturer. Following her PHD at the University of London in Exile Studies on the subject of refugee art publishers in Britain, she has published widely and co produced a film on refugee designers. She is a committee member and editor of the Research Centre for German and Austrian Exile Studies, University of London. 

Anna will launch her book 'The Clothes on our Backs: How Refugees from Nazism Revitalised the British Fashion Trade' with a talk about the book itself, there will be some time for questions and then a showing of the film Anna co produced on refugee designers. There will also be an opportunity to buy copies of Anna's book. 

The centre will be open from 10am - 4.30pm with Anna's talk beginning at 1pm, allowing time both before and after the talk for members of the public to visit the exhibitions and memorial gardens.
