On January 27th 2015, 25 students from three of the Centre's Partner Schools attended the National Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration in London. The schools represented included Garibaldi College in Mansfield, Redhill Academy in Nottingham and St. Paul's Catholic Academy in Leicester. The London event was attended by the Prime Minister and the Prince of Wales, as well as featuring speeches and testimonies from Holocaust Survivors and celebrities such as John Hurt, Christopher Eccleston and Helena Bonham-Carter. During the event the students formed part of a group of 70 students from across the UK that held a lit candle to mark the 70^th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.

Following the event students attended a reception where Holocaust survivors and those who had taken part in the commemorations spoke with students. The young ambassadors of the Centre spent much of the reception speaking with survivors and explaining the work they had done as part of their partnership with the Centre. The theme for this years Holocaust Memorial Day was “Keeping the Memory Alive” and the students each made a pledge to pass on what they had learnt to at least one other person.
